Could You Game on NoTraffic?

NoTraffic’s AI-powered traffic management platform is built on cutting-edge technology, including the powerful NVIDIA Jetson system embedded in every sensor and Nexus unit. Jetson is like a mini-computer, containing a CPU (Central Processing Unit), GPU (Graphics Processing Unit), memory, and other components, all designed to handle AI computing at the edge. But this raises an interesting question: Does NoTraffic have GAME?

The NVIDIA Jetson Powerhouse

At the core of NoTraffic’s AI-driven solution is the NVIDIA Jetson platform, installed in each Sensor and in the Nexus, designed for high-performance edge AI computing. NoTraffic’s installations deliver more than 5x the compute power of traditional traffic cabinet systems, which typically rely on a single processor (if any at all). This enables NoTraffic’s platform to process vast amounts of data in real-time, optimizing traffic flow like never before.

The Power of AI Acceleration

NoTraffic’s CTO, Uriel Katz, highlights the performance benefits of using NVIDIA Jetson in our system:

“With NVIDIA accelerated computing, we achieved a 3x speedup in AI training and doubled AI Mobility’s energy efficiency,” said Uriel Katz, cofounder and chief technology officer of NoTraffic. “These optimizations in time, money, and energy efficiency are all bolstered by NVIDIA Jetson, which sped our image preprocessing tasks by 40x compared with a CPU-only workflow. Plus, GPU-accelerated NVIDIA CUDA libraries increased our model throughput by 30x.”

This statement is packed with technical terms, so let’s break it down:

  • Accelerated Computing: Imagine you have to solve a thousand math problems. A regular computer (CPU) solves them one by one, but an accelerated computer (GPU) solves many at the same time, making everything faster.
  • 3x Speedup in AI Training: Our system learns traffic footage three times faster than before, like a student going from reading one book a week to three books a week. In fact, as of 2024, we have trained our AI with over 1,000,000 hours of traffic video – that’s over a lifetime of traffic observations!
  • Doubled Energy Efficiency: The system does the same amount of work while using half the power, like an electric car going twice as far on the same battery charge.
  • 40x Faster Image Processing: Our sensors process camera images 40 times quicker than a regular computer, like a high-speed camera capturing slow-motion footage versus a regular phone camera.
  • 30x Increased Model Throughput: Our AI can analyze 30 times more traffic data at once, like a librarian sorting 30 books simultaneously instead of just one. In fact, our system can make 10,000 computations per second and adjust traffic patterns in real-time with over 100 adjustments per minute, finding the optimal, policy-controlled solution to meet the agency’s goals.

Can You Run Video Games on NoTraffic?

So, while NoTraffic’s sensors could run games if we wanted, most users won’t be pushing the latest AAA titles any time soon.  Our platform does offer a revolutionary level of processing at the intersection which outperforms legacy traffic detection 10,000 to 1. With superior processing power and more efficient computing, our system redefines what’s possible at intersections. But more importantly, NoTraffic plays a key role in helping cities manage traffic intelligently, reduce congestion, and improve mobility for everyone. So, yes, you could definitively state that NoTraffic has ‘Game.’
